This morning I noticed these little guys foraging through the leaves that had blown underneath our yews! Several white-throated sparrows found their way to our backyard and were looking for their breakfast as we ate ours. It was nice to see them again as many had wintered with us last year. I know their breeding range is in Canada, and from what I've read, many choose to winter in the north eastern states.

Tina, I love your cute, wet squirrel picture! Also, the sparrows with that little bit of yellow around their eyes are fun, too. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of the charming little white-throat.

ReplyDeleteGreat post...love the little white-throat in the leaves.
ReplyDeleteI have seen pictures of those colorful sparrows--but have never seen one before. I don't usually think of sparrows as pretty --but this little guy is gorgeous!!! Love the yellow!!! Have you had any snow yet??? We drove home from Buffalo tonight--and ran through some flurries near Cleveland/Columbus..
ReplyDeleteI just love these white-throated sparrows Tina. They really just pass through here on their way down. They have the sweetest song and I'm hearing it lately!
