The sounds of hope...

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
and never stops at all~ Emily Dickenson

This little purple finch filled my morning with song...he huffed and puffed and sang from his heart. ...rolling his head to one side while sharing his sweet sounds of hope with me.
He lingered for a while after he finished singing, eating a few seeds from a pin oak tree.
It was nice to see him...my first of the season!!

  2. What a sweet little singer that Purple Finch was, especially with that cute little head tilt! A moment both magnificent and delightful.

  12. Hi Tina,

We are digging out from yet another weekend snowstorm.

Please send all your birds my way. We could use a little hope that spring is on its way!

  15. I really am surprised to see a Purple Finch. I thought they had all died out. LOL

I only get the House Finch here but keep hoping the next one will not have that brown spot on top of its head and then I could begin to get exciting again. LOL

I really liked your photos and the quote.

  18. Bird songs in the morning are always full of hope to me, but I know people who hate to hear the 'racket' that wakes them up! they do not know what they are missing. That is one of favorite quotes..
