Light and Color ..

Such wonderful and iridescent colors nature shares with us...when those Hummingbirds turn into the sunlight preparing to..
fly to the feeder and show off their gorgeous ruby red throats..
all the while the female sits close by waiting her turn to sip that sweet nectar...

  10. I was so happy to see these little hummer pictures.. I have had few and far between at my house this summer. I love these little guys. Thanks Tina, for the reminder. Great photos. I know you must have gotten more BIRD picts at Hawk mtn. than I did in NJ last week end. haha

  12. You captured some great natural shots of these beauties! Have you noticed a decline of visitors this year? Most people I have talked to have noticed it...I rarely get a hummer, and in the past, I would have 4-5 regulars.

  13. We, actually, have noticed an increase in the number of hummers we are seeing this year..and I have no idea why!!
I think Barb was correct in her remark about that last pic being a juvie..I have since seen him several times now.. up close.. and he does show some reddish tints on his throat!! Good call Barb!
Thanks everyone for stopping by!! I love to hear from you!!

  14. Those are all really great! I thought the second one was especially interesting where he is all fluffed out. Even the red feathers on this throat seem to be standing on end.

  18. Very beautiful Tina. The hummingbirds have really been active here. As I write this they are coming to the feeder located just out the window from where I sit.

  22. That female is very smart, doesn't want that male running her off. All the photos are great. Also like the Kingbird at the top.
