Hot Spots!

Up at dawn and out on the paths for a morning walk was my idea of a great start to a great day. How I will feel by this evening will be another matter.. :0
As I walk looking for birds, these late summer days, I am finding that there seems to be little hot spots that you come across where several different kinds of birds are quite active..and if you just stand still you can catch, ever so slightly, a glimpse of this one and that one. I saw quite a few black and white Warblers, a few Parulas, a Black-Throated Green Warbler but the only early bird, nice enough to sit on a branch closer to the ground was a cute little Common Yellow-throat Warbler...of course we all know they don't stay around too long..and I was given a gift that this one stayed as long as it did...
Mid way through my morning I caught this little bird as it flew into a nearby bush... I am going to guess at this fellow, a Yellow-bellied flycatcher...or so I think..? I saw him several times.. but way up in the canopies of trees chasing bugs and was quite surprised when he/or another came closer to where I was standing.
I heard this little Eastern Towhee before I caught sight of it...there are several who seems to stay in one particular area..so I know if I find I'm not standing in or near that "neat little hot spot" I can always find these little birds who will cooperate with a pose or two!

Wow Tina, you did find a great 'hot spot'.... That's so neat that you saw so many cutie pies... Congrats.

I love the Towhee---but never see them here. I heard them all over the place when we were in NC. I love that 'Drink your Tea-hee-hee-hee" song....

Hope you have more good luck finding those 'hot spots'...
Hugs,
Betsy

I'd say you had a very successful morning walk. I love the colors in the picture of the Towhee--The fallen leaves on the branch below matched his colors perfectly.

These are great Tina! You know I sometimes just put a chair out on my back stoop to sit near the woods and I find that the birds seem to travel together during the day. All of a sudden a red-bellied woodpecker shows up, followed by a chickadee, wren, titmouse, cardnial...they all mingle around the area and then move on. Then in a little while here they come back. They all must be a band of brothers! Oh but for the hummingbirds!! They always stick close to the feeder just chasing each other and don't have time for anything else!
Thanks for taking us!

Aww, nice! Wish I had a hot spot; I can hear a lot of birds in different places during my vacation but seeing them is a whole different matter. UGH! Love the header pic too!

Such beautiful birds and as sharp as tacks.

I spent one day restoring Patty's computer. She clicked on an email she had sent that could not be delivered and was returned. She was curious as to why it wasn't delivered and clicked on the notice. Well, it was a "worm" that locked her computer and wouldn't let her do anything. When I got up the next day, she came out in her PJs and said, "My computer won't come on."

I had to reformat the hard drive and return it to the factory, new, condition. She lost everything on the computer. I feel sorry for her as it takes a lot of time to put her things back on the computer that she had saved on an external hard drive. Beware folks. If you send an email and it comes back, you should not open it.

I have not been able to get around much of late.
