Wow Alice is beautiful ;-) But I guess she does not help you to see other birds! Magnificent shots you got, at least she behaved well for you to get some nice shots ;-)
Oh my goodness....he is such a brute! ;-) I love watching Cooper's Hawks. Also.....really nice shot of the Hermit Thrush. They are so hard to capture. He winters in our area, so I hope to see one too!
He's quite the showman, your Alice Cooper, and a cocky fellow too. If he could talk, you'd hear something like "Where's my dinner? Come on, lady, get with the program and set the table for me!"
They do make good hunters. Like your's, those here go inside of bushes to flush out the birds. And they flush them out but find themselves on the inside and unable to get out fast enough to chase them.
They don't have that worked out yet but they work on it every day.
Tina, I am catching up on my blog reading. This is a wonderful series. Feeder hawks are seldom seen except in a flash of feathers. But I wonder if this hatch year bird is entirely with it - the behavior is so uncharacteristic. Has it been around since your photos? And aside from keeping the birds away, did it make any attacks?
