These feeder photos were taken earlier this year. I am posting, this little yarn, with these photos to remind everyone that the desire to provide food for our feathered friends will, hopefully, always be a priority, because so many of these little birds depend upon our food sharing to carry them through the colder months.
As winter settles upon Pennsylvania and food supplies become scare, we will see more and more birds visit our many feeders. In our backyard, however, we seem to have a bird, who over time, becomes a feeder dominater, filling the day with squawking and screeching...
complaining ......ok, my turn ..my turn! Move aside.... you've had enough...
jabbers the blue jay, who by the looks of those suet crumbs STILL clinging to his bill... was momentarily disrupted from the suet feeder by that cute little girl downy!!

Tina: I thought the jays were the aggressive ones. It seems that you have a new boss. Great photos of the bird positions.
Tina, I'm kinda sad since our Bluejays have moved on... They are 'year-round' birds--so I don't know where they went.. We also don't have any Downys (or at least none at our feeders)--but we have a Red-bellied Woodpecker that 'owns' the area --with his loud chipping. He comes to the feeder SEVERAL times a day. BUT--we are over-run with Goldfinches (lots of little ones)!!! Fun-Fun!
Tina,
I love a good story. The look on that Jay's face is priceless! Doesn't this Woodpecker know who is in charge around here?

Downy woodpeckers have continued to boycott the Heiser family feeders. We are hoping to see one soon!
Great post. The pictures show some of the action happening at your feeders.
That blue jay has a "what happened" look on his face. :)
I love how you captured that blue jay w/ his tilted head - focused look! Loved your yarn!
Blue Jays are such piggys, good for that downy!!
Thanks everyone for your nice comments! Those suet feeders are quite popular aren't they!! Hope everyone sees lots of birds at their feeders, and they stay long enough for some awesome photos!! :))
