..and the live show is still our choice~ a. garcia

My favorite weather is bird-chirping weather~Loire Hartwould

...and one of my favorite challenges is to capture one "focused" picture of any bird that finds its food by foraging!! They jump , they dive, they scratch... little butts tilted up...little heads pointed down...digging ..scratching...hunting...eating..moooving..
always one part blurry...

Finally, this little fox sparrow takes a break..only to quickly fly away..
..getting a better perspective, maybe, on where NEXT to forage for food!
Such pretty little birds..but oh.. so energetic, they make me want to take a nap!

Lovely fox sparrow shots. I have never seen one before and seeing your pictures makes me long to see one w/ my own two eyes.

This would be a true example of "flitting".

Great Fox Tina...they don't even sit here long at all, I've only seen one or two here in many years...they just pass through.

Great shots Tina. How do you manage? Seems like I can never get a bird to sit still long enough for me to get good shots.

Love seeing the Fox Sparrow here in your blog! It's a lot more fun seeing pictures of birds taken by "real people" than ones in a field guide, and somehow makes the birds easier to remember and identify. Thanks, am looking forward to seeing this elusive migrant soon and your photos are really helpful.

Nice pics, of a very hard to pin down subject. We don't get the fox here in Lincolnshire but his cousins are just as fast. Well done.

HI Tina, We're home.. It was a great week although the weather wasn't cooperative... We did see some great waterfalls.

I cannot believe that you saw that owl. He is gorgeous!!!! AND--the little fox sparrow is so cute...

Did your Pine Siskins leave??? Anymore sickness around??? I'll put my feeders out tomorrow and see what happens.

Glad you had a great week.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sparrows have got literally wiped out of our cities. These days I find them only in villages. I m happy they still are present in your place.

Tina,
Great shots of the little fox.
I cant seem to capture any of the little critters with my point and shoot.
When I digascope they always seem to flit about and I loose them off the viewfinder.

Another handsome bird. Don't you just love migration time?

I have always wanted to look at this bird and say, "That's a Foxsparrow!" And, "That's a Pileated Woodpecker!" And there are more. I see them or maybe its best to say, "I saw them." You see to have them.
