Today was one of those days that keeps you glancing out the window. Brilliant sunshine and cold. I tried to focus on projects I was doing at the house..but by mid-morning I found myself loading the car with my camera, binoculars and lunch.. heading out.. seeking some peace and quiet. I drove to a nearby lake where I found this lone eagle sitting on the lake ice.
It remained in the same spot for some time, looking around, and like me, it didn't seem to have any particular place to go...
.. it eventually lifted off the ice, catching a breeze to glide and soar out of sight!
I did see a few ole friends..enjoying the warmth of the sun...
but for the most part only tracks greeted me as I walked...
..it seemed today, we all just wanted to enjoy the quiet of nature..with no particular place to go!

This was a beautiful post Tina! That Eagle looked like he could walk on water! And what a nice surprise to see that deer. A lovely day and you put it very poetically.
Sometimes it is just pure fun having no particular place to go!! Your walk sounded like JOY to me! That eagle was gorgeous. You still have quite a bit of snow, don't you???? Our temps are supposed to go into the 70's this weekend. Mercy Me--can it be?????
Have a great day tomorrow and get out and go somewhere again!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Tina,
It has been in the 70's here. I went for a hike afterwork yesterday and a bald eagle and its juvenile flew right over me. They are amazing.
Even with no place to go you managed to get some great shots.
Blessings,Ruth
Hi Tina,
You were right to go out, at least you could take some pictures, see a nice eagle, and enjoy fresh air.
When I look at your pictures, I have the feeling that we are both leaving in the same world, except that the species we meet are not the same!!! Cold, fresh, snowy environment, but nice to stop to watch mother nature!!!
Beautiful day, beautiful post. I like you attitude!
Nice post, Tina, and I like the eagle on the ice.

What a wonderful place you went to even if it was no place particular! I really enjoyed seeing the eagle and your other friends. Did you know the sledder? How fun to be able to play like a child again.
You did a great job just finding a place to do nothing!
You got some great pictures when you had no particular place to go. I was really impressed with the pictures of the eagle.
Yet again, another great post. I like your blog.

How cool that you can just load up and go see bald eagles and deer whenever you want! I'm seriously thinking of moving to Pennsylvania now. Wildlife, scenery, snow...what else could you want? :-)
I would have more than happy to be walking by your side on this walk. I loved all your pictures and it felt very peacful and refreshing. No particular place to go but you did go and found some beautiful friends.
