Returning to Reality..

Wow, why do vacations seem to fly by!! It seems you wait and wait for the time to arrive, organizing your plans..your thoughts, packing, driving and poof it goes by so fast! Sanibel Island, off the coast of Fort Meyers, is my favorite place to visit during those winter months! We stay in the same condos every year...this year it was the 3d floor top right corner. A beautiful view of the gulf. ..a place to fish and bird.. I think this Great Blue Heron has "been there, done that" before. The waiting game!! Who will be take home the prize?
a great place to shell...one of the two best in the world..I hear. Hawaii, I believe, is said to be the other one.
..a wonderful place to stroll, looking for the usual residents..
... brown pelicans..
the every present osprey..who were in the process of nesting while we were there.
..the Red-Shouldered Hawk..whose screaming always makes me think of a squeaking dog toy!!
..the beautiful Anhinga..who is always displaying those gorgeous feathers..
..thisLittle Blue Heron..who seems to be everywhere looking for its lunch..
..how could I tear myself away from this warm and sunny scene to return to..
this one?? Hmm you say..this is also beautiful..but oh my achy..from shoveling.. shoulders and did I mention my lower back.. ;-)

I'm convinced. Were going with some long time friends, staying in Fort Myer and already have my Twins tickets lined up. Sanobel Island is on my itinerary for a visit. ...The snow better be all melted by the time we get back! :)

I could almost feel the warm breeze and hear the waves splashing on the shore....I especially like your picture of the Anhinga. Home sweet home looks beautiful in her winter dress but also cold like most of us have been feeling. I am very ready for Spring.

I've been missing you Tina.. So glad you had a nice 'warm' vacation with lots of lovely picts for us. Love the Anhinga and the shells. I'm seeing lots of warm picts from Barbie too...she's in Hilton Head SC..while I'm shoveling and shoveling and well... your house picture tells it all. But it is a very beautiful picture. I love the snowy look.. go ahead call me crazy.
Welcome home!

'Returning to Reality' is an understatement. I would very much have been tempted to stay at Sanibel. Don't overdo the shoveling of that 'reality'!

Tina I love your bird photos! I also think the picture of your snow is beautiful too. :) You found some nice shells, hope you get to come back soon. Don't shovel too much.

What a wonderful vacation! Such beauty and you have captured it so well.

Pinch yourself, you are dreaming, you are really still on vacation in the warmth of the ocean air.

Never mind, that doesn't work. I have tried pinching, clicking my heels, wiggling my nose and when I open my eyes the snow is still there.

We both shall have to wait on spring.

Ohhhhhhh....you lucky duck! Sanibel and Captiva are my favorite Florida spots. I haven't been for about 9 years. I want to go back to the Ding Darling Nature Preserve. What a shock going from sunny warm to grey and cold!! Love the anhinga....and all the great shorebirds...

I love Sanibel as well, although we haven't been down for quite some time. Beautiful photographs.

quite a contrast to come home to! could it be any more different. Even though I enjoy winter ( slight that it has been up here) I do get tired of it after a bit.

Rather interesting place you've got here. Thanks for it. I like such themes and anything that is connected to them. I would like to read more on that blog soon.

Truly yours

Hahaha, I had to laugh when I saw the last two pictures :) I'm happy to hear to had a good vacation, the pictures are gorgeous! I really like that great blue heron on the beach, he seemed quite comfortable being so close to people. Those shells are very pretty too :) And the pelicans in flight, wow!

I haven't been to Sanibel Island but hubby and I will be moving very close to Florida in less than a year and SI is at the top of my list of places to visit, due to their shells. Fabulous photos, I'm so jealous! It's snowing slow fat flakes right now, ground has plenty of old snow on it...blah!!

OH Tina!! I wish I could have gone with you to Florida! I've been freezing this winter! But luckily we had a few springy days of late. Your pictures are wonderful. The birds are great! I can just feel the sand between my toes!
You may keep the snow! But it is beautiful.

would like to hear your thoughts..
