The memo...

It seems we have a routine going on in the backyard...the feeders become quite busy in the early morning..
Foraging on the ground...

at the seed feeders...

and at the suet log...
all the early birds get their fill....so when he flies in mid morning, they're ready to leave...

hellooooo......as he walks around the deck....

He does get his kills..but I've never seen him take from our feeders..he has arrived in our neighbor's backyard with his lunch a few times. We just get a kick out of his many appearances...walking among the yews and on the deck looking...for that one bird who didn't get the "Fly away now" memo!

Tina - very funny about the memo! You're getting such a great variety of birds! Loved the hawk photos - he's definitely on the hunt!

Great pictures Tina! Isn't is cool to see them swagger through the bushes and brush looking to scare up some lunch?

It's pretty cool that you get to watch his behavior in your own back yard. I'm glad the memo was read by all birds and left the scene without becoming lunch. Great photos!

Isn't he something! I can't help but love him so much, though I know he's getting songbirds! Fortunately none from your feeders. I really adore raptors! They are such amazing birds!

Wonderful post. I've never seen a hawk on the ground, just walking around. Great photographs.

Great shots Tina. We have a hawk that hangs around here sometimes. I've never seen any around here in our neighborhood until the last couple years.

How wonderful that the hawk is yet on a different schedule. Your birds are so colourful and you have a lovely variety. The past few days we have had an influx of Pine Siskin and I have been surprised at the colour some of the males display in flight.

Glad that you enjoy my photos. I am also progressing on my Starling creation. I think I'll maybe put a post together on my progress some day next week if I haven't completed it by then.

Thanks for dropping by,
Ann

Hi Tina,
It looks like you are offering bed and breakfast to the bird living around. I mean, I'm amazed by the number of species that you are photographing!! Congrats, these are great pictures... I have never seen them as we do not have them in Europe, so it is cool, I'm learning their name on your blog for a future visit in your country!!!

All the photos are so good. To get to see the hawk on a regular basis is great. Sometimes it is hard to remember it is part of nature's cycle when they get one of pretty birds. Saw a snake eat a hummingbird one time. If we watch nature this closely we will see it happen.

Lovely post, I do like your blog. Glad you found me.
